So I give you my favorite songs of all time. Well there are a couple of songs in this podcast that are my top five of all time. This is what I listen to on a daily basis for the most part. I check “yahoo” for stories to talk about, but tonight I didn’t see anything that was worth talking about…..
Soooooooo. I decided to talk about music that I listen to…. My favorite song of ALL TIME is Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb”. Why? The lyrics speak to me and the guitar solo’s speak to me on an entirely different level. Listen to the guitar solo and you will hear why it is a “pick me up song”. If you can’t feel the pick me up in this song then I got nothing else for you.
The next song is “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd…. This song has a few meanings to me, but none that I want to get into at this time. Just another favorite song of mine by one of the greatest bands of all time! “We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground and have we found the same old fears? Wish you were here!”
Judith! ( A Perfect Circle) This song is amazing… Now for many of you that are religious and that “believe” perhaps you will not find this song amazing. However, I do find it amazing…
“You’re such an inspiration for the ways
That I’ll never ever choose to be
Oh so many ways for me to show you
How the savior has abandoned you!
“It’s not like you killed someone
It’s not like you drove a hateful spear into his side
Praise the one who left you
Broken down and paralyzed”
“Oh so many many ways for me to show you
How your dogma has abandoned you.”
And people want to question why I question God/Jesus etc.? I will never understand why people have faith in a “mythical” being one that has never been here on Earth. (Ohhhh thats right Jesus was on Earth and turned water into wine. His disciples parted the Red Sea!. Say what???? How does one part a body of water? Yeah sorry not happening!)
Now lets get into another favorite song of mine….. Schism:
“I know the pieces fit ’cause I watched them tumble down
No fault, none to blame, it doesn’t mean I don’t desire to
Point the finger, blame the other, watch the temple topple over
To bring the pieces back together, rediscover communication.”
“There was a time that the pieces fit, but I watched them fall away
Mildewed and smoldering, strangled by our coveting
I’ve done the math enough to know the dangers of our second guessing
Doomed to crumble unless we grow, and strengthen our communication.”
At the end of the day all we really need to do is communicate with one another. If we did that then the world would be a better place. With that being said one last song for you……..
Opiate… My favorite song by Tool…..
“Choices always were a problem for you.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow,
What you need is someone strong to guide you..
Like me, like me, like me, like me.”
“My God’s will becomes me.
When he speaks, he speaks through me.
He has needs like I do.
We both want to rape you.”
“Jesus Christ, why don’t you come save my life now
Open my eyes and blind me with your light now.”
Well my friends that is my FAVORITE song of all time by Tool. “Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow……..” It is what it is. I don’t judge you for your beliefs so please don’t judge me for mine.
Until Next Time,
